It was time for her haircut, as usual Mami wanted to have a 2-in-1 outing so we went to VivoCity for her haircut at QB House Kids followed by some fun time in The Polliwogs!

First area welcoming us was the toddler's area and their spinning carousel was the first thing we hopped on, it looked so fun and creative even I was grinning with excitement! I liked their spinning cups too because it's so old school and I could enjoy it with her safely cushioned no matter how fast we turned. There's also a mini ball pit and rock climbing cushioned wall.


There're reasonably enough obstacles for her to climb around and play with in the structured active play area. The 4 slides were side by side so it wouldn't hog up the space with queues and they were actually quite fun because of the balls at the bottom, you'll always land with balls flying around you.


Another special play area they provided here was the trampoline with 2 levels of spider webs above so the kids can climb as high as they wanted using the webs without having to worry that they'll get hurt if they fall. Sadly, her legs were not long enough to reach so she was stuck in between the upper and lower level of the web, hence that expression below when I rescued her out......


Conclusion, I liked this branch compared to the one in Suntec City because the crowd was still manageable and the play areas they offer here was just right for her age now. For bigger kids it might get a little boring after a while but for kids below 5 years old, they should be having a great time!

Nothing special to mention about the structured play, it's just the usual slides and obstacles. Surprisingly, we spent quite some time inside the ball pit because the ball shooter was quite fun and we didn't have to worry about getting shot by kids playing with ball guns upstairs unlike in other playgrounds.

Story was, the excited Mami wanted to bring everyone to the animal-themed water playground at the rooftop of Tampines 1, so the minute our boss woke up, we packed our things and cabbed down to avoid the noon sun. Turned out, the playground was closed for maintenance......  Mental note to self : ALWAYS check the mall's page/FB page before making the way down to all events! ):



So... in order not to waste our packed swimming stuffs, we searched for nearby water playgrounds and Changi City Point seemed to be the most ideal choice at that point of time. Off we went!



It was quite a big area dedicated for the water playground, the dry area was too challenging for her so we stayed around the wet area only which was sufficient to keep her entertained.

Cool De Sac Singapore has created quite a stir amidst the indoor playground craze, and it's not hard to understand why when I saw its diversity of play factors.

An overview of the number of play stations here:

1. Tree House

First up, a mini tree-house was facing the entrance so she ran straight to it when we arrived. Not too shabby to keep a toddler busy~







2. Play Area (active play)
3. Tots Area (active play for toddlers)
4. Arts (long table with art materials and papers provided)
5. Blocks (Lego love!)
6. Back stage (face painting and dress-up costumes)
7. Tweens (console games)



Because of the various play stations here, it's only fair that their active play area was not as huge as other playgrounds. Nevertheless the slides were super smooth so it was very fast and fun!



She just refused to put on any costumes~




She was quite skeptical about having somebody drawing on one of her body parts, but I kept encouraging her and since she was vain yet afraid, that expression came by....

Living along the purple line of Singapore, the few malls we frequent are usually Nex Serangoon, VivoCity or AMK Hub. Lately, we discovered quite a gem: City Square Mall.

The mall projected itself as Singapore's first eco-mall and probably due to its distinct location, there were lesser crowd as compared to other neighborhood malls or malls in town. That said, it's definitely still an approved family-friendly mall because of the stores and services there. Few shout-outs will be Daiso, Kid's fashion apparel, Toys"R"Us with Babies"R"Us, Golden Village, TimeZone and the newly opened Decathlon. Most importantly, there's also an indoor playground: Fun N Laughter.

Even though the playground is tucked away in B2, it's hard to miss it because the entrance was filled with retail toys such as Pororo and Tayo Bus. Once the kids are attracted to the toys, they'll be able to catch a glimpse of the playground behind and....

Well, ours was not the case as we specially brought her over to visit the playground after chancing upon it in Bumble Bee Mum's blog post. The playground was relatively small, you can see all of what they have when you enter. First up, the toddler's areas included a mini ball pit and a glass-door partitioned room with mini slide and some toys. The room also showcased digital interaction games which were more suitable for bigger kids based on the skills required and reaction time. Bean bags were thoughtfully provided for parents to rest comfortably while the kids run around the room while playing the games.

Just beside the mini ball pit, there's a huge Snakes 'n' Ladders imprinted on the floor so parents and the kids can play their fill. A side note, that area was like a concourse area so many people were walking and running around and it was quite hard to complete a proper game. I was excited about the electric Tayo Bus that they had, sadly it was down for repair when we went there so she could only move the vehicle around manually, which was challenging because I had to follow her behind in case she run over somebody.


After following her through the active play area, I reckoned that this playground suits 2-3 yr olds best. The size was not too overwhelming for them yet enough to keep them engaged to climb over and over again. Most importantly, the active play structure had such a high ceiling that other than the times when I was climbing, I was practically walking upright throughout inside the structure. Talk about a pleasant surprise! Because of this considerate design, we totally had no complaints and issues following her around no matter how many times she climbed. Thumbs up!!


They also had air blasters/ball shooter where kids can aim and shoot at target boards, but all along she has no interest in them so I didn't even have enough time to pause and take pictures, she simply zoomed off.
